Come discover the timeless beauty and prayerful power of Gregorian chant in this introductory workshop for all parishioners. Over the course of three Tuesday evening session, we will explore tradition of chant and learn to sing the Ordinary parts of the Mass, those parts sung by the people each Sunday, including the Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, Agnus Dei, and Credo.
Using our new parish hymnal, we will cover the basics of chant notation, ecclesiastical Latin pronunciation. No prior musical training is necessary—just a willingness to lift your voice in prayer. By the end of the workshop, participants will have the tools and confidence to participate more fully in the sung liturgy and to grow in love for the Church’s musical heritage.
